Website forms let potential clients fill out a consultation or contact form on your website while the data lands in MyLawyerLink. Each submission creates a Client (with source set to Website form: {form name}) and appears in that formโ€™s submissions inbox.

Create a form

  1. Go to Settings โ†’ Website forms (/account/settings/office/website-forms).
  2. Click New form (or Create a consultation form when the list is empty).
  3. Open the draft to edit fields, appearance, and publish settings.

You need permission to update team settings. An active subscription is required to create or publish forms.

Choose fields

The builder only offers fields your office already uses:

  • Contact details โ€” first name, last name, email, phone, address, notes, and other built-in client fields
  • Custom fields โ€” your firmโ€™s custom client fields (same definitions as Practice fields)

First name and last name are always required. Reorder fields, set labels, placeholders, help text, and which answers are required.

Appearance and embed

  1. Set heading, description, button label, and success message.
  2. Pick basic colors (primary, background, text, button text).
  3. Optionally enable Create a potential case and Notify the team on each submit.
  4. Set status to Published.
  5. Copy the iframe snippet (or open the public URL) and paste it into your firm website.

Public forms live at /embed/forms/{token} and are designed to load inside an iframe on any site.

After someone submits

  • A new Client is created on your office team.
  • The submission is listed under the formโ€™s Submissions tab (with a warning if the email already exists on another client).
  • If you enabled team notifications, staff get an in-app alert with a link to the client.
  • Task automation rules with trigger Website form submitted can create follow-up tasks (any form, or specific forms). See task automation.

Tips

  • Keep forms short โ€” name, contact, and a short message convert best for free consultations.
  • Use custom fields for matter type or preferred contact method so answers map straight into the client record.
  • Archive forms you no longer use; archived forms stop accepting public submits but keep history.
